Good for a free virus scanner
Easy to use and has a good number of features for a free antivirus scanner.

AVG free edition includes AVG Email Scanner, which checks your emails for any nasty viruses. AVG Resident Shield, which checks for viruses as files are opened and executed.

Also it will prevent you from opening or running an infected file.

Also there is AVG Virus Vault, a place where any infected files are isolated so they cannot cause any damage to your PC.

The inbuilt scheduler is basic, but does the job. But trying to update can be hassle as AVG keeps trying to get you to upgrade to the paid version, which I guess is understandable.

The only real problems is that the scanning process takes a while and there is noticeable system drag, but you can easily adjust that in the options.

I would highly recommend AVG free edition if you need a quality scanner and don't want to spend the money on a regular paid version. B-)

The Best Free Antivirus Tool
This is the best antivirus program out there, it's scans don't slow your system down and if they do you can easily switch it to slow scan mode.

A great piece of freeware

A Solid Free Antivirus Program
It's free and I've used it on at least 4 friends computers and they have not had any viruses.

I would certainly recommend this over spending way to much on Norton or other antivirus software where you must pay an unrealistic amount.

AVG antivirus does the job
I have been using the AVG antivirus free edition since it was first released and have never had any problems with viruses!

It's easy to use and is always updating with new virus signatures to protect against the latest viruses, so for now I see no point in using any other version! :-P
